Funny Cravings

So I have had a hard time with the change of my eating habits I have had to make since I found out I was expecting..... I'm so sick all the time and only very paticular things sound good and so this is what my doctor told me " you are IN SURVIVAL MODE, if you feel like a choclate shake and mcdonalds burger every day then that is what you eat!" OH MY! What a long road I have ahead of me! For those who know me well I am or should I say was a VEGAN. Now Del Taco and Einstein bagles is a regular food hot spot for me these days. So I have had some very interesting paculiar cravings that are pretty funny as well.

Craving #1 Ice water in a plastic cup with a straw. But not just any plastic cup and not just any type of ice. I love the plastic cups that you get at places like Bajios (the free water cup) And I love the pebble ice. A delight and comfort for some odd reason

Craving #2 Del Taco. Weird because for one reason I haven't had fast food in 3 1/2 years! I tell no lies! But Del Taco was my very favorite in H.S. Going through the drive through brought some nostalgia of late night runs way back when. I can proudly say that I have only gave in to these Del Taco cravings 3 times though.

Craving #3 Hot and Sour soup from P.F. Changs. Its like heaven in a bowl PEOPLE! Not only do my taste buds do a little dance from this sweet awesome soup but for some unknown reason I can be throwing up my guts and if I have just one cup of this soup I'm good as new!

Craving #4 Einstein Bagles. Not just any but the I die for the Sun-Dried tomato with the Jalapeno Salsa Cream Cheese Shmear! Dan and I made two trips to Einsteins Saturday!

So pretty much NO healthy cravings. Swell! And eating something that doesn't sound good when you are prego is pretty close to that feeling when you are so full you feel like the food is stacked up to the top of your esophagus and then imagine hopping on the zipper ride at an amusement park right after and you might understand the feeling a bit! I like to whine about it! Ciao for now!

A million thoughts a minute....

I tend to be be an over thinker to begin with, doctors have tried to diagnose me with anxiety disorders and such but truth is I love to think/reflect. I love to voice and share these thoughts more than anything. I have plenty to think about and reflect on lately. A wedding, a BABY, school, finding a home, financial planning, etc. etc. The big day nears and I am getting more excited than Christmas Morning! I am so excited to marry the love of my life! I am excited to wake up next to him every morning and to do things you do when you're in love and married! Then there is school...hmmm school...maybe I don't think about that as much as I should. I think I made a wise decision to only take six credits and both of my classes are both easy but necessary for my degree so I will be able to do well and still have room for other things. A baby...a baby...I get the butterflies, the pricks on my skin, the rush. Its seems the little one growing inside is at the foremost of my thoughts! What a blessing! What an experience! An experience like none other thus far and I imagine it to only continue to be as unique!
These first few months have been challenging. My health is scary to say the least. I have been loosing weight instead of gaining. I am the sickest I have ever been in my life! A random thought but I just wonder why some people don't get sick? not one bit not at all! and other's do to the point of being hospitalized because I can't keep anything down and so I have to have "IV therapy" where they hook me up to an iv and pump liquid substance into me to get me hydrated and back to the point where I can actually eat solid food. I cry. I cry for having to be dependent. I'll be laying there sick out my wildest dreams and its hard...so hard to hate the sickness...hard to despise it or wish it to be gone because it has meaning it. It means there is our very own child growing inside of me. Developing and thriving. Its this feeling that I can't describe. Such happiness! It is that feeling that I know I will get through this and it will all be so worth it! Getting through "it" has been an easier journey with My Love by my side every second. "What can I get for you?" "Here, I'm going to tickle your back" " What will make you feel better?" These questions on their own make me feel better. Because even though there might not be anything he can do it is the compassion and love that I know he has for me. I am bursting at my seams with gratitude for this amazing Man! I thank him for the Del Taco runs in the late hours of the evening. Well FOR ALL OF THE FOOD RUNS! I love the way he makes sure I am taken care of that I don't go without and that if I am going to be sick no matter what he is there beside me supporting me and kissing my face. He is my angel...truly. Above and beyond anything perfect I could have ever imagined. He is for me and I am for him and the little one is for us! We are BLESSED! Now if my belly could get even just a little fat...I would be superbly happy! For there would be more evidence of a baby then just the sickness :)

P.s. Thank you for reading my very personal random thoughts.

September brings FOOD!

September brought two long awaited openings of Sunflower Market and Cafe Fresh!

Whole Foods Market is perfect, its heaven, its my true love. Unfortunately, Utah only recently gained a couple of Whole Foods. The old Wilds Oats is now Whole Foods. I have a problem with this...I don't like Wild Oats and when I walked into the "New Whole Foods old Wild Oats" Something was realized, they removed the Wild Oats sign and replaced it with the Whole Foods Market sign. Thats it. So I was bummed, especially because the closest one is a 30 minute drive. Then came along Sunflower Market. Thank the health food fairies!!!! I have been counting down the days until its opening! Lets name the endless list of positivos! #1 Its a Health Food store AND a regular grocery store. They sell everything food! #2 Its DIRT CHEAP! which is a huge plus for so many reasons! #3 Its in a great location. Walking distance from my house. Oh so convenient! #4 For a dollar you can purchase an eco-friendly sunflower market bag and then if you bring it everytime you shop you save 10%. Which saves you money (duh) and also saves the PLANET! hooray! Go see for yourself!
Okay now for Cafe Fresh. I may not have as many wonderful things to say about this place but I must say it is a step up from the cafe it replaced (Junkies)...if you are familiar. I have only ate there once so maybe its not fair but I had a Turkey Cranberry sandwich and it just wasn't that great. Dan had curry something and it wasn't his favorite either.
It might be that my stalking phone calls to Good Earth requesting the opening date of Cafe Fresh (which opened a month late) might have been in vain??? Cafe Fresh will soon have a second chance to please my taste buds...we shall see!

Proposal!

On August 20th, Dan called me about 15 minutes before I was off work and said that it had been a long day and that we both deserved "bombay house" (our very most favoritest restaurant EVER!) of course I totally agreed so he came to pick me up.
As we picked up take out from bombay Dan told me that we should go take a ride on the chair lifts at Sundance totally oblivious but excited for the adventure again I agreed.
We raced up the canyon being that they took the last chair ride at 6:pm. After the speeding we were still to late and the guy told Dan we wouldn't be able to ride tonight. Dan was unusually upset. We sat around for awhile enjoying the scenery and I wasn't sure I could wait one second longer to dive in to the delicacy that awaited in the take out bag.
Dan then went in to talk to the guy that sold tickets and told him that we just wanted a ride up and that we would hike down, the guy questioned us, making sure hiking down was what we really wanted to do and then sold us two tickets to the mountain top. We hopped on the lift and began our gorgeous trip up the mountain. The sun was starting to set and it was truly beautiful. We laughed and talked until we were to the top. As we got off the chair operator said," well, have a good night," and took off down the trail on his mountain bike. So there we were, on top of this beautiful mountain all alone with a picnic table and delicious food. We sat down and enjoyed the food but after being invaded by bees we packed up and decided to start our trek down the mountain to beat the sun setting. Right before we started down the mountain Dan told me to wait a second. He put our back pack down, gave me a big hug, whispered some sweet nothings in my ear and the next thing I knew he was down on his knee. Completely surprised and a little shy I went down with him sitting on his knee and started asking him what he was doing. haha geez. I stood up, a little bit more stable and he popped a little velvet black box open. Inside was by far, thee most beautiful piece of jewelry I have ever seen in my life! I told him how naughty he was for buying such an exquisite ring with a quite substantial piece of "bling" and then gave him huge smooches and I think there may have been a few tears :) we then continued down the mountain and lived happily ever after. THE END
